Divorce And Family Law Experience You Can Trust

After more than four decades of practicing law, I have helped people face nearly every kind of serious legal problem, and almost always come out of it with hope for the future. I always counsel attempting to stay together is possible. There is nothing that affects people more, though, than facing divorce or other kind of serious family law matter. When children are involved, the emotions and frustration can seem insurmountable.

I also suggest dissolution when possibe. The reason is simple, it saves money and avoids spending thousands of dollars on contested divorce. With dissolution, both parents need to agree and that is much better than having a Judge tell you the terms. The goal in any Divorce/Dissolution or custody matter is always fairness and keeping costs down; but if necessary I will fight for you to your last penny. But, that is NOT my goal, rather having a fair settlement and keeping costs low.

As their lawyer, I have always considered my responsibility to make sure people have the information they need to make the right decisions, often in the face of overwhelming fear and worry.

A Compassionate Attorney Who Won’t Intimidate You

If you are considering filing for divorce in Portage County, or neighboring county in central Ohio, take the time to settle your nerves. Then call me, attorney Richard C. Lombardi, in Ravenna. I offer a free consultation to discuss your situation — or even just to listen for a while.

It may help to remember that the law doesn’t care who was right or wrong. I will work hard to make sure your rights and interests are protected at every turn. Through it all, I will be available to talk or listen. I answer my phone, and I return calls as soon as possible. You will be empowered with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions, and you know that you have an attorney on your side who honestly cares about an efficient, cost-effective outcome.

I have experience in a broad range of Ohio family law matters, including:

-Divorce, marriage dissolution, uncontested settlements and contested litigation

-Spousal support, alimony

-Division of marital property, complex high-asset property division

-Child custody, parental rights, father’s rights

-Child support issues, enforcement

-Post-judgment modifications of alimony, child support

-Paternity litigation

-Custodial parent relocation

-Prenuptial agreements

Mediation Or Litigation?

The courts expect parties in family law matters to do everything they can to resolve issues outside of trial. I believe that mediation and negotiation can yield great benefits for all involved while saving money, time and stress. I’m prepared to help you reach a peaceful and amicable settlement, if possible. However, if your spouse or co-parent is unwilling to negotiate in good faith, I will not hesitate to take the case to trial.

When it comes to children, fairness and relationships with both parents should be the goal. There exceptions if illegal drugs are being used by one parent, or alcoholism, or sexual deviancy, or criminal activity that makes one parent inappropriate.
